Elizabeth (Jurawoky Jawarski Chisveski) Chasky immigrated to the United States in 1913, Arriving at
Philadelphia on October 27th. There is a naturalization document for
Elizabeth, through the US District Court of Linn County, Cedar Rapids,
Iowa. There is no date of naturalization on the record, so it is
unclear if she became a naturalized US citizen.
Pearl Victoria/Veronica? Mullan was her first child with husband John (Ivan) Chasky and was the only one born in Belarus. The rest were born here in the United States. Mary Baugher, Teresa Probert, Catherine Bean, Betty Bradfield, Rose
Schauer, and Anne Schultz; two sons, John, Jr. and Nicolas.
Elizabeth was born in Russia, presumably Belarus, 6 May 1887 and died in Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa, USA in 1946 (aged 58–59). She rests at Fairview Cemetery next to her husband.
With the lack of a Social Security Death Index or finalized paper trail through the naturalization process, Elizabeth appears to have kept her Russian citizenship.
