Indian fighter dies, read the title of his obituary. Asa Lee Lewis was one in the Texas Frontier Forces. What a time he lived in. Drafted into the Texas Rangers (Ind. Sur. No. 13484) to do his duty to protect his community, he went out in November 1870 and returned in June of the following year.
